The organization relies on the collective expertise and collaboration of its staff members to advance telehealth initiatives, support member organizations, and improve healthcare access and outcomes in the Bay Rivers region.

Mary Ochsner, LPC, CRC, BC-TMH

Executive Director

Ms. Ochsner is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Rehabilitative Counselor, and a Board Certified Telemental Health provider with over 20 years of human services experience.  During that time, Mary has managed several programs including outpatient therapy, foster care, school-based counseling, adult group homes, early intervention services for children, and community mental health programs for skills building and intensive in-home counseling programs.  Mary received her BA in Psychology from Concord University, MS in Rehabilitative Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University, Masters of Philosophy in Psychology from Walden University, and is currently working on her Ph.D. in Psychology with a concentration in teaching of psychology from Walden University. 

Michelle Moore

Project Coordinator

Mrs. Michelle Moore has dedicated two decades addressing Mental Health and Substance Abuse in her Community. She was employed with Shore Memorial Hospital (now Riverside Shore Memorial) for 10 years an additional 10 years with Dr. John Ogram’s private psychiatric/substance abuse practice. The last 5 years with Northampton County of Department of Social Services. In October of 2023 she joined the BRTA team.

Michelle’s desire to help people with empathy and understanding of all their difficult challenges they face in a rural community has guided her journey. She recognizes that these challenges impact people from all walks of life, refraining from assuming and strives to put herself in each person’s unique shoes.

While she feels as some progress has been made, she still sees the ongoing need
for much improvement in her community. Working with BRTA allows her to
continue on her journey to positively impact the mental health and substance
challenges in her community.
